A Very Warm "Welcome" to St Thomas' (please scroll down to read all the notices)
SUNDAY 26 SEPTEMBERThis will be COME TO CHURCH SUNDAY, when we make a special welcome to newcomers and to those whom we’ve not seen for a while. Those families who’ve had a baptism with us recently will be especially welcome. There is a baptism happening that day also, so we look forward to seeing some new faces
THE BOOK OF REMEMBRANCE
For many years, Nora Park has faithfully been keeping our Book of Remembrance, entering in it on the appropriate dates the details of those for whom we have taken funeral services at St Thomas’. First of all, thank you Nora for this work you have done for us. Nora thinks now might be the right time to pass this on to someone else. Does anyone feel they could do this?
FLOWERS IN CHURCH
We encourage you to provide flowers for church. Some in the congregation may like to either create displays for church themselves or donate some money for the flower team to purchase flowers and create the displays. There is a list at the back to complete. Putting your name and ‘A’ means you are donating the money to the team, and putting your name and ‘B’ means you will do the flowers yourself. If you have any questions, or would like to join the flower team please see one of the following: Christine Nunn, Enid Walker, Shirley Buckley or Vicki Hoyle.

PILGRIMAGE TO THE HOLY LAND
Eight or nine years ago Terry planned to lead a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land, and after having assembled a group and got the whole thing up and running he unfortunately had to abandon it because of the political situation in Israel at the time. He has long wished to revive the project, and is currently organising the project for February 2012. If you are interested would you mention it to Terry as he would like to begin a list of those interested.
St AUGUSTINE'S CENTRE HALIFAX
For those in our community very much in need, there is a Food Drop In at Ebenezer Methodist Church in Halifax. There is a large plastic box Underneath the table at the back of church to collect items. Certained items are prioritised from time to time, so have a look at the list (table at back of church). Help is required from anyone to occasionally take the box to Ebenezer on Saturday mornings,10am. Sometimes there are items other than food to consider donating (e.g. can openers; and scarves, hats, gloves as winter is upon us).
